Weight Room Without Walls

Outside or inside it does not matter - A hallway is just as good - Get it done! Never let facilities or lack thereof limit a workout. Never let equipment or a lack of it limit your training. Building champions is about getting the job done, not style points.

Vern,
Seeing the pictures of the VBall team working out really brings back some good memories!!! What is your approach to teaching a large group like that who is relatively new to training?
Hope all is well,

Dap

I'm getting my pitchers ready for baseball. Yep, in a drafty foyer on the side of the gym. Get creative with the modalities... If I had to name my secret weapons-hoola hoops & gym scooters. Maybe I'm lucky, but not a single elbow or shoulder injury the 15 years I've been doing it. However, many have gotten injured when they go off to college. I'm not sure it's because they are throwing more, or they change their routines to fit in with their peers. I'm always happy when a few show up during winter recess to work out with us. It's always fun to watch them giggling through a gut busting workout. I still think laughter is the best core exercise.

Vern,
Would you be willing to post a sample preseason workout for us 'High School Baseball' coaches?

Or Joe maybe would you as well?

Coach..I would love to see a baseball workout posted. I just finished working with our girls softball team and they were awesome and liked working hard. Our baseball coaches are still dinasaurs but hey they won the state championship last year..perhaps they are the smartest guys in the school, they had 2 major league prospect pitchers and they are returning...their philosophy was to just not mess them up...pitching coach didn't even coach them at practice..they had their own private coaches
