Venice Volleyball Workout – February 21, 2008
These are pictures from yesterday’s workout. These girls are awesome! I thought the group last year was focused and worked hard, but these kids have taken it up a notch. As you can see by our “facility” it is not about facilities! We have a great “weight room without walls.” Spirit, work ethic, imagination and effort make up facilities. What you see in these pictures is all you ever need to prepare teams to win championships!

Sunny and 70 helps too. In Chicago it is 22 and dreary and that is an improvement over earlier in the week.
Thanks for the video Vern. Videos of actual workouts are a great way to see theory put into practice.
Great pics, thanks, Vern, and inspiring. If you get to read this, I have a comment question: I am a believer in leg strength stemming in part from foot strength and sensitivity. When I am working on condioning with my (running club) kids, we work barefoot indoors, and i encourage flat soft shoes outdoors. I see your girls all wearing trainers that reduce foot strength and sensitivity (IMHO!) and wonder if for a leg strength sport such as volleyball you might not improve their workouts a little by getting them to wear footwear that allows them to feel the ground and get their nervous systems and muscles working right down to the floor? Just a thought, and my own experience is that it helps.

Vern, So do you measure each girls progress with a log? How do you measure progression?
This looks like absolute unregulated chaotic activity!
