Listen To Your Body

Coaches always tell athletes to listen to their bodies. Do we ever tell them what they should listen for or listen to? What if they don’t hear anything? What if they are deaf?

Love the stimulating questions. Would also love however to hear your own answers to your questions!

In my humble opinion the term "listen" is somewhat abstract and can be difficult to put into perspective. I prefer the phrase feel your body, because the need for sensation to mediate proprioception is HUGE and it's so often overlooked; for example, just feeling the ground beneath your feet will change how you stand!

Listen to those internal mechanisms that deal with external pressures. "Nurturing the natural voice"

If we don't hear it, they will spoonfeed it to us, or just jam it down our throats.
