The Functional Path is a path that had been traveled many times before but had fallen out of use in favor of smoother paved roads that promised faster and easier results. Seeking to follow and better define the functional path is a continuing journey, fortunately it is a journey that many have traveled before. Functional Path training is getting back to the basics of movement. It is learning to tune into the body and it’s inherent wisdom to produce rhythmic flowing movement.

How important is it for coach to educate the athlete on body?
Parkour strikes me as an interesting sport in that it's simultaneously primitive and contemporary. I mean that it seems very vital, in a hunter-gatherer sense, and at the same time completely urban. Reminds me of Fight Club, of Tyler Durden's vision of the shattered cityscape of a primal, urban dystopia.
Hey Vern- That landscape looks like where I work! With a little good ole American exploitation, just think where we could go with this! We can open up a Parkour training facility; with Parkour instructor training certification programs; Parkour apparel; Parkour soundtracks with bad rap music etc.
