The Functional Path is a path that had been traveled many times before but had fallen out of use in favor of smoother paved roads that promised faster and easier results. Seeking to follow and better define the functional path is a continuing journey, fortunately it is a journey that many have traveled before. Functional Path training is getting back to the basics of movement. It is learning to tune into the body and it’s inherent wisdom to produce rhythmic flowing movement.

Vern,
I think you are being a bit harsh on the hurdle exercise. The hurdle I just ordered from you last week is for a dentist that really likes using mine in the office because it will give him a nice little micro - break exercise to improve ROM, balance and strength. I wonder if it also does not qualify for some braingym maneuvers that would help him focus better when pulling teeth.
As for the carrying weights - I just assumed they are cattle farmers and are practicing carrying newborn calves over and under a single wire electic fence. I guess this time of year they could also be training to be pumpkin thieves.

What is wrong with adding a little load to hurdle mobility exercises? Holding a MB over your head while doing walk-overs can provide some proprioception training opportunities as well as some additional and often need core work.
