Maybe if I ignore it will go away or Denial is good!

This is truly amazing; the USOC just realized they have a problem. Here is a quote from today’s sports page: “U.S.O.C. leaders also issued what they named a “national call to action” on the drug issue, urging the federal government and all other sports organizations and leagues to participate in a new initiative to fight doping that would include increased research, education and enforcement.”

“This is a national issue,” said Peter Ueberroth, the chairman of the U.S.O.C. “Nothing less than this kind of effort will be needed. We run the risk of losing an entire generation of sports participants and sports fans.”

What planet has he been on? Be careful Peter you might piss off those sponsors that are paying you the big salary. They even banned Graham from use of USOC facilities – how enlightened. I said I would not comment on this any longer, but I could not pass this one up.

It is not just about drugs - all cheating is widespread. A past hoops coach at Ohio State was awarded millions this week in a lawsuit over whether or not the university had grounds to fire him. All he did was give recruits thousands of dollars and cause the university to have to pay back all the money it made from a Final 4 appearance (millions). If a coach can not be held responsible for this then I guess no one can be fired for anything.
