The World Cup

The Functional Path is a path that had been traveled many times before but had fallen out of use in favor of smoother paved roads that promised faster and easier results. Seeking to follow and better define the functional path is a continuing journey, fortunately it is a journey that many have traveled before. Functional Path training is getting back to the basics of movement. It is learning to tune into the body and it’s inherent wisdom to produce rhythmic flowing movement.

It was extremely sad to see Zidane end his career that way.
Walking past the very Gold Cup he could have won, on his way out, must have been very humilating. He appeared to be in a daze.
I stand corrected ...he was awarded the best player in the tournament...even sadder!
So Italy won The Cup. Destiny decided that the lesser team would take the prize.
Lovely, beautiful, elegant Zidane had a very human and sadly profane moment. And this part of an article on CNN is very illuminating.
Domenech went further than that, suggesting that Materazzi, not Italian playmaker Andrea Pirlo, deserved to be named man of the match. And he might have a point. Materazzi has a well-earned reputation as nasty player in Italy's tough Serie A, and his role in the ugly drama was nowhere near as surprising as Zidane's.
He was suspended for two months in 2004 after punching an opponent and conceded earlier in the tournament, "I can't tell you how many times my kids have been told at school that I'm a monster."
"You make mistakes in life," Materazzi added. "But then you have to purify yourself, without seeking revenge. Everyone has their destiny."
If so, he took a good man down with him.
