CSCS*D

What does the *D mean and how do you get it? I think I know how you get a CSCS, but where does the D come from?

Vern,

I believe the "D" stands for Distinguished or Distiction meaning they went above and beyond the normal amount of required CEU's.

Mark...you forgot to mention, "Program Fee
The application fee is $25 if applying for Recertified with Distinction for one credential or $40 if applying for Recertified with Distinction for both credentials".

Does the allied health industry recognizes someone with a CSCS or ACSM certification?

Given equal educations, experiences, and interviews, who do you hire to work with late stage rehabilitation and conditioning...someone with a CSCS or ACSM certification?

Mark
Thank you for the info on CSCS*D.

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between CSCS and a "Registered" CSCS? and How is that different than a CSCS with Distinction?

Basically the *D recognizes those who give more money to the organization.

As for allied health recognizing a CSCS or ACSM, I have not seen that as a possiblity as state licensing would govern that aspect, but I am sure there are those out there with misconceptions.

To Anynomous #5 and Confuse in California

Here is the low down on the difference with being "Registered" CSCS, CSCS*D, and CSCS

1) CSCS = $260 for the exam if you are a member

2) CSCS*D = $25 or/and $45 for dual recert

3) "Registered" CSCS = $285 for the application to be "registered"

1a.CSCS = You are specially recognized

2a. CSCS*D = You are really specially recognized

3a. Registered CSCS = You are really really specially recognized

It cost me $420 to take the specialist exam. No I didn't take the test twice, I lost my entrance ticket the day before the exam.
