Self promotion - Are you kidding me?

I resent the anonymous post on self promotion. Please have the courage to state your mane. That was exactly what the coach said to me. Anyone who knows me, knows I am the consummate non self promoter. That being said I do have to make a living and one of my main sources of income is the GAIN Network. I probably should be a lot more self promotion. If this bothers you don’t read the blog!

Vern is not about self-promotion or the bottom dollar. Who else give us this much of their time and expertise and all he asks in return is to be professionals in the athletic development field. What a great guy!

"Seems like" anonymous get your head out of the sand. Did you find this blog? or did the blog find you? If so, how?

Litmus test; mention a name or company name in a fitness setting and see/hear/smell and taste the "self promoting trend" It will start will a body part and a piece of equipment and will end with an exercise technique.

Good Day Sir

I vote for turning the anonymous option off; if that's actually an option. Keep up the great work Vern, it's much appreciated.

Vern Gambetta changed the rugby club at Eckerd College.

He did this without fanfare and self-promotion.

I talked Vern into helping us improve the fitness of the team. He did that quickly.

There was a bonus to having Vern around. Not only did we improve our rugby, we became better people.

Anyone that works with Vern hammers him about doing more self-promotion. Vern's been resistant to this.

However, I will continue to be a pest about this issue, because he has so much to offer.

As for self-promotion "A little bit is better than nada"

I happen to agree with anonymous Vern. I think you should make this blog totally commie. Trade in your sweat suit for brown fatigues, red socks, and one of those Che Guevara berets. Hide up in the mountains and roll medicine balls down at those capitalist self promoting bugiouse fitness professionals. Viva le revolution!

Gerard here,

Coach I wouldn't even dignify that comment with a reply! For those that don't no me I am a nobody in the world of Strength and conditioning. I simply am a father of 14 year athlete that is serious about his training. When I sought out the help of coach Gambetta when he was recommended to me by Bill Grasso as the BEST, He simply gave himself. Including one Saturday at 7am in the morning. My son suffered three grade 2 ankle sprains in a month and Coach gambetta helped with the rehab for FREE! When I went online and ordered all of his books and CD's he personally called and advised me that I didn't need everything I was ordering. The hater that made the comment can't even fathem such integrity or commitment. not even to his name.

I had the same experience that Gerard was given. I to contacted Coach to just ask for advice on strengthening my knees and ask what items I should order from his site. He went above and beyond and offered to train me for free and told me I didn't need to purchase anything, he even gave me a medicine ball and band that I use to this day. He never once has asked for one dime. Just that I was commited to the program. The Gambetta system does not need promoting, like the quote says "the proof is in the pudding". But forget the system Coach is the definition of integrity and unselfishness and I salute him for those qualities. I hope whoever you are you spend a little time to understand who Coach is, if all the responses don't tell you, and contact him personally to apologize because your comments couldn't be further from the truth. Coach I appreciate the integrity and beliefs that you bring to this world.
