It is more than work
The newest Sports Illustrated has a section on the NFL players toughest workouts. I was struck as I read them that there seems to be some confusion between just doing work and work that is directed to the sport to make you better. Training is more than getting tired, it is work with a long term plan and a pupose.

What I think about when I see an article like this is how many people, especially kids, are going to try to copy it or do it by the letter. What is cool, however, about this article is how far training has come. I used to look at M&F mag and every August they would come out with the same thing (NFL's best body or something like that). Most of the programs were just bodybuilding programs. I love seeing pix of Donovan McNabb playing tag and one of the Packers doing a lunge and side bend. This is very motivational to the kids I work with.
But I agree with your assessment. I think it is important to send the message to work smart, not just hard.
This blog is a great idea, Vern, keep up the good work!
